This December is going to be a big one for us! We've got a lot of things planned, starting with the Advent gift calendar that begins tomorrow. There will be events toward the end of the month, near solstice and new years eve.
Most importantly, we'll be releasing new spells and skills every few days, including new crafting skills, new minions, fighter skills, and more. To top it all off, we'll be opening level 37 near the middle of the month.
If you can't make it to the events this month, we'll also be running our yearly anniversary event in January, from the 20th through the 24th.

The first and second batches of December skill and spell updates is in!
Split the necromancer spiritlore spellgroup in half, creating a new soulbind spellgroup.
Add level 28 mage skill 'scribe scroll'.
Add level 33 mage skill 'scroll chaining'.
Add level 35 mage skill 'greater lightning elemental'.
Split druid carving and runes into two separate skill groups.
Add level 17 druid salve 'insect repellent'.
Add level 30 druid spell 'thorn armor'.
Add an obscure level 32 druid skill 'call yeti'.
Add level 33 druid salve 'sunscreen'.
Add level 34 druid spell 'sandstorm'.
The round of changes should be in a few days, and should open level 37 to the public. See you there!
i'm crap at brewing salves and tinctures. Got any pointers for finding ingredients for different recipes?
I usually just gather herbs (using plant lore) in various places, then use 'brew salve analyze' and 'brew tincture analyze'. The analyze options will give you a list of things you can easily brew with the herbs you have in your inventory.
That way you don't have to go hunting for specific herbs to use in a recipe - you can just analyze what you're carrying to figure out how to brew something. Hope that helps!

I've seen a lot of posts written by you concerning this game. However, I don't know anything about it and I'm not sure where to begin.
What is it about? What's the goal or goals? How do you play? Is there anything for newbies like me to do? How do I start?
Like I've said I have seen a lot of posts but to be honest they're overwhelming for me. Please, don't take that as disrespect or anything I'm just new at a lot of online gaming.

Alter Aeon is a mud. You use your mud client of choice to play. If you've never played a mud before, essentially there's a line where you enter commands and a line where results show up. Muds can be of all different types. This one is basically swords and sorcery, with a bit of sci-fi thrown in here and there.
What I would do is check out http://dentinmud.org and have a look around. The game is very, very newbie-friendly. You're walked through nearly everything.
Also, this game happens to have a user-generated sound pack called MushZ that I strongly recommend. Basically everything in the game is represented by sounds as well as the in-game text, and specific areas have their own music, which is cool.
So if you're into muds, give this one a go.
I don't know much about muds. I know the very small basics but not much else. Thanks so much for explaining stuff!

Add new level 16 warrior skill 'attract'.
Add new level 21 warrior skill 'ground strike'.
Add new level 24 warrior skill 'enrage'.
Upgrades to the warrior skill 'taunt'.
Upgrades to the warrior skill 'protect'.
Upgrades to combat tactics, and the ability to reset them.
Level 37 is now available! Current level 37 spells and skills are:
Mage skill 'crystal elemental'.
Mage skill 'greater lightning elemental'.
Druid spell 'ancient oak'.
Druid skill 'spirit totem'.
The Mush-Z developers have also released a new update. Make sure to thank the volunteers who work on it for their effort.
